The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin claimed that the implementation of the biometric control for foreigners will not influence the citizens of the European Union. He claimed this to the journalists as Ukrainian News reported.
'The logic of this decision is connected with the threats that Russia carries in the context of the inner destabilization of Ukraine. We perfectly understand that in the context of the visa-free regime that works on the basis of the biometric passports we do not have the problems with the European Union and all countries that have the biometric passports. This way such decision will not influence on the European Union', he said.
According to him, this decision will be made after the accomplishment of the technical works connected with the register of the biometric data.
'It is only the first element because I presented it at the NSDC session and it is the integrated system of the control of the entrance and departure and also of the inner movements', the Minister added.
He noted the importance of the implementation of the notice by the foreigners about their visits and control of the movement at the territory of Ukraine.
The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine approved the decision to implement the system of biometric control for foreigners who are going enter the territory of Ukraine and implementation of the system of the preliminary registration of Russians who are going to enter Ukraine since January 1, 2018 on July 10.
