Representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Gerry Rice stated about the readiness to help China and other countries financially in the fight against new strain of coronavirus as Interfax reported.

“The IMF is ready to help other countries to cope with the economic consequences of the new coronavirus,” Rice noted.

He also added that the IMF follows closely the situation reported by the Chinese government and WHO but it is too early to talk about the economic consequences of the epidemic as they depend on the spread of it and its influence on people.

As we reported, the World Health Organization has announced an international-level emergency due to the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

On January 30, the plane, which evacuated Ukrainians from Chinese island Hainan (over 1,500 km from Wuhan, where the epidemic of new coronavirus started), landed in Boryspil International Airport near Kyiv. Thus, 158 Ukrainians returned from Sanya, the popular city. The next flight will take place on February 3.

On February 3, Ukraine will close direct flights with China.

As we reported earlier, Ukraine would issue a daily newsletter on the situation with the spread of coronavirus from China. This was reported by the press service of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), following the meeting of the task group on monitoring and analysis of the situation regarding the spread of the new coronavirus, which was held on Monday, January 27, by the head of the Council Oleksiy Danilov.
