Nikki Haley, the U.S. Permanent Representative to UN also accused Russia of the poisoning of ex-GRU officer Sergey Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury and reminded on the danger of the chemical weapon at the UN Security Council session.
‘If the nerve agent appeared in a small British city, when it will appear next time? Nobody is safe until UN begins to assume steps against the chemical weapon’, she said.
Also, she joined the claim of the UK that Russia is responsible for the Skripals’ poisoning.
‘Douma and Salisbury are only two recent incidents with the use of the chemical weapon. It is a weapon of the terror. There is no place for it in the civilized world. If we do not assume any measures, the next chemical attack can reach one of us and it will be too late’, Haley said.
Also, Karen Pierce, Britain's Permanent Representative to the United Nations accused Russia of the poisoning of ex-GRU officer Sergey Skripal and said that only Russia has a motive and the resources to create Novichok nerve agent.
As it was reported earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Saturday that experts from the Swiss Center for Radiological and Chemical-Biological Analysis, who examined the samples taken from the site of poisoning of the former intelligence officer and his daughter in Salisbury, came to conclusion that Sergei and Yulia Skripal were poisoned by a chemical substance BZ.
