The warehouse of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry in Ichnia, Chernihiv region could be blown up with the aid of a cell phone signal. Anatoliy Matios, the Chief Military Prosecutor of Ukraine said this in a commentary.

According to the official, only one mobile terminal was operative in the area during the incident. That phone had no IMEI code so it could not be traced. The Chief Military Prosecutor’s Office currently considers the incident as the act of sabotage. 340 military servicemen were interviewed in this case, Matios concluded.

Reportedly, an explosion in the sixth armory occurred in Ichnia. The air-space within 30 km is shut down, traffic and railway movement are stopped due to the emergency situation. The Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Central Region opened a criminal proceeding on the case of explosions at the ammunition depot in Ichnia.

Since October 10, ten demining groups have been working on the territory of the armory. 70 percent of the administrative territory was cleared. On October 11, the fire was completely eliminated.
