At the moment, 60 investigations take place, 32 cases are at the initial stage. The court decisions were made upon 108 cases; two of them are not final.
The issue is about the issuance of Hungarian citizenship without the knowledge of the language in the majority of cases. However, there was an example, when a shell person, who spoke Hungarian came to the consulate but the citizenship was provided to another person.
Moreover, the false data about the residential address was put on the official register.
Earlier, Hungarian political force “Democratic coalition” requested prosecutor’s office to provide information about people from Ukraine, who illegally live in the country. It was emphasized that such Ukrainians can influence the results of the elections.
Earlier, Ukrinfrom published a video where a few Ukrainians receive Hungarian passports and owe allegiance to Hungry in the Consulate in Berehove, Zakarpattia region. The Hungarian diplomat recommended not to inform the Ukrainian authorities about receiving the new documents.
Tamás Menczer, Hungary’s Foreign Minister Spokesperson, later reported that Hungary did not intend to withdraw its consul from Berehove due to the scandalous video about the issuance of Hungarian passports to the Ukrainians.
In its turn, Ukraine claimed that in case, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary does not withdraw their consul from Berehove, and then Ukraine will offer him to abandon the territory.
