Hungary takes a pro-Russian position, and the situation with the issuance of Hungarian passports to Ukrainian citizens in Berehove (Zakarpattia region) was their special operation. Ukrainian Deputy minister for temporarily occupied territories and IDPs Georgiy Tuka stated this in an interview with Obozrevatel.

“Everything is absolutely clear in this situation. No one should expect any discussions, especially when Hungarian leadership takes a pro-Russian position. It was a special operation,” said Tuka.

In his opinion, the reaction of Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs to this incident was "adequate."

"Well, if I were (Ukrainian foreign minister, - ed.) Pavlo Klimkin, I would expel this consul the next day, and would not wait for two weeks trying to change the position of (Hungarian Foreign Minister) Szijjártó," the deputy minister added.

The scandalous video with the Ukrainians, who get the Hungarian passports in Berehove, was published by the current officer of the Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Hennady Moskal, Governor of Zakarpattia region claimed this as 112 Ukraine reported.

"By the way, a person who published this video is the current border guard officer who took an oath and recorded it. The Border Guard Service and the service of its internal security should deal with the aim of his action," Moskal claimed.

Moskal did not exclude that the author of the video was kind of an "agent."

"However, the Vienna Convention points out that the places, where the embassies and consulates located, are the territories of this state. In other words, it is a territory of Hungary," he added.

"I proceed only from the legal framework that the state knew about this for a long time and did nothing: any ambassador was ever called, any note was sent. Even after all loud statements of (Ukraine's Foreign Minister - Ed.) Klimkin, the ambassador of Hungary was not called, and he did not get any note of the protest," the official said.

Earlier, Ukrinfrom published a video where a few Ukrainians are receiving Hungarian passports and owe allegiance to Hungry in the Consulate in Berehove. The Hungarian diplomat recommended not to inform the Ukrainian authorities about receiving the new documents.

Relations between Hungary and Ukraine significantly aggravated after the adoption of the law on education in Ukraine, which stipulates that national minorities are gradually being transferred to schooling in the Ukrainian language, and that they will be able to learn their native language as optional.
