The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary summons the Ambassador of Ukraine to Hungrary Lyubov Nepop to the Foreign Ministry due to the adopted education law on September 11. Radio Liberty reported this.
'Szijjarto ordered the Hungarian diplomats to not support any of the Ukrainian initiatives at the international organizations and he claimed that Hungary will not support the important decisions for Ukraine anymore', the speaker of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry Tamash Mentser reported this.
According to him, Budapest will raise an issue on the making of amendments to the language article of the Ukrainian Education Law at all forums of the UN, OSCE and the European Union.
Also, Mentser noted that the Hungarian will hinder Ukraine with the implementation of important issues for it at the international stage according to the Szijjarto's order.
He explained that the reason for such decision of the Foreign Ministry of Hungary became the changes in the Ukrainian law on the education that unable the national minorities of Ukraine, including the 150 000 people Hungarian national minority, to get the education at the mother-tongue. at the same time, Szijjarto raised this issue in the discussion with the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin within the Eastern Partnership EU program but the response of the Ukrainian colleagues was unacceptable as Mentser emphasized.
Tamash Mentser also added that Peter Szijjarto claimed to Estonia on September 7 that Ukraine stabbed in the back to the neighboring state with its policy in the education sphere.
'We were those who supported the visa-free regime for Ukraine stronger then others, we were the first to ratify the association agreement between EU and Ukraine, and we opened the gas reverse through Hungary. We sent the humanitarian aid to Ukraine in the sum of more than two million of dollars. We made the rest and health improvement possible for 2.600 Ukrainian children in Hungary', the Hungarian Foreign Minister said in Tallinn.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the law on the education that starts the reform in Ukraine. The law provides that the language of the educational process is the state language.
