Hungary opens land borders to neighboring countries excluding Ukraine
State Border Guard Service of Ukraine

Hungary lifted some of the quarantine restrictions imposed during the coronavirus pandemic in September last year. This was reported by Deutsche Welle with reference to the government.

Entry across the land border is now open to residents from neighboring countries, except for Ukrainians.

It is still not possible to travel by plane to Hungary.

The border restrictions imposed by Budapest applied mostly to tourists. Exceptions included business trips, transit passengers, diplomats and athletes.

As it was reported earlier, the work of the international automobile checkpoint (except for buses) is resumed from June 23 this year. The checkpoint on Ukraine-Hungary border is located in Berehiv district of Zakarpattia region.

It was also reported that this month Ukraine and Hungary mutually recognized the Covid-19 vaccination certificates.

As it was reported earlier, the inner Ukrainian Covid-19 certificate should appear at Diia app on July 1, 2021, according to the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

The all-European system of Covid certificates is supposed to start working to full extent by July 1. Currently, these documents are issued in seven countries. Then Ukraine’s Health Minister Maksym Stepanov stated that Covid-19 certificates in Ukraine will include information on vaccination and they can be launched until July 1.
