Hungary has not made the decision on the blocking of the confirmation of Ukraine’s status of aspirant-country at the NATO summit in July yet. Foreign Minister of Hungary Peter Szijjarto claimed this as European Truth reported.
According to the minister, the negotiations take place on this issue.
“The negotiations take place on this issue in Brussels; we will see where they will lead to. Moreover, we will take into account the results of the next consults of Ukraine’s Education Ministry and Hungarian national minority in Zakarpattia planned for the beginning of July,” he said.
On June 22, Szijjarto claimed that Hungary will not support the relations between Ukraine and NATO until Ukraine does not fulfill the recommendations of the Venice Commission on the language article of the law "On education".
Earlier Kay Bailey Hutchison, the U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO claimed that NATO is interested in the membership of Ukraine in the alliance.
As we reported on March 10, the NATO admitted Ukraine’s aspirations to obtain full membership in the Alliance and gave it a NATO aspirant status.
