Since July 15, Hungary has introduced new restrictions on cross-border travel due to the surge in new Covid-19 infection cases in several countries. This was reported on the website of Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s administration.

All Hungarian citizens returning from countries with a high risk of spreading the infection, that is, from the “yellow” and “red” zones, will have to undergo a medical examination at the border and quarantine.

The same applies to foreigners arriving from the yellow zone. The entry of foreigners from the countries of the "red" zone will be prohibited.

The "red" category includes, in particular, the Balkan countries and Ukraine. Serbia and Romania are listed as "yellow", and entry from Croatia is not yet regulated.

Zones are determined by the degree of risk of the spread of coronavirus, where "red" is the most dangerous, "green" is potentially not dangerous.

At the same time, drivers engaged in freight transportation, transit passengers, as well as those arriving with business trips are exempt from restrictions. However, the report says, they may undergo a physical examination.
