Hungary admits it cannot negotiate with the current Ukrainian government; however, the situation may change after the presidential election slated for next year. Viktor Orban, the Prime Minister of Hungary said that as quoted by the government's web portal.

Budapest currently contacts 'all potential winners' of 2019 presidential election in Ukraine, Hungarian prime minister said. At that, he added that if things don't get worse after the election it will be a certain achievement.

According to Orban, Hungary expects Ukraine to act friendly and to restore the rights of Hungarians who reside in this country.

As is known, Ukraine and Hungary's relations worsened when the Ukrainian parliament passed the language on education; it stipulated that the national minorities will be gradually switched to the mode where school students study in the Ukrainian language. They will be able to learn their native language, choosing it as an option.
