Hungary does not recommend its citizens to visit Zakarpattia due to possible provocations

The warning extends for March 16-18

The diplomats of Hungary do not recommend the Hungarians to visit Zakarpattia on March 16-18, especially Khust and Uzhhorod. It is stated on the website of the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhhorod.

'Due to the difficult political and public situation in the security sphere to avoid the possible provocation since March 16 until March 18, we do not recommend the Hungarian groups and individual travelers to visit Zakarpattia, especially particular cities (such as Khust and Uzhhorod) to avoid the crossing in this period of time in any case', the message said.

The diplomatic institutes also urged the Hungarians to avoid the visiting of  Verecke pass in this period time due to the same reasons.

On March 15, Zakarpattia will celebrate the 79th anniversary of the proclamation of Carpatho-Ukraine. Particularly, the floral offering to the memorial of Avgustyn Voloshyn, the Hero of Ukraine and President of Carpatho-Ukraine will take place at 9:00 in Uzhhorod.

However, earlier Hennady Moscal, the Head of Zakarpattia Regional State Administration supposed that Russia's FSB can hold some provocations.

On February 4, a bottle with an incendiary mixture was thrown into the building of the Transcarpathian Union of Hungarians. Minister of Foreign Affairs condemned people, who did this in the building of Hungarians Union.
