Head of Ukrainian MFA Pavlo Klimkin claimed that early published on the net video with the issuance of Hungarian passports in Zakarpattia region is being verified. If it proves to be true, then the Hungarian Consul may be expelled from the country. The minister claimed this on Twitter.
‘I will meet with the Hungarian Minister in New York at the UN General Assembly. Besides, if the video about the issuance of the Hungarian passports to Ukrainians is no a fake, probably, he will have to go to Budapest to issue Hungarian passports. No way for Ukrainian citizens. There is more comfortable,’ he said.
‘Fake became a bad fashion. Hungary has two options: prove that the video with the issuance in the Consulate General in Berehove city is fake or to take measures right now. Think that the second option is only real,’ he added.
Reportedly, earlier, Ukrainian outlet Ukrinform published the video where a number of Ukrainian citizens receive Hungarian passports and take an oath of allegiance to Hungary in the Hungarian Consulate in Berehove. The procedure is followed with the advice of the Hungarian diplomat to not to tell Ukrainian authorities about the receipt of new documents.
Earlier, Hungarian Ambassador in Ukraine Ernő Keskeny claimed that Ukrainian Hungarians have an absolute right to receive Hungarian passports when the former head of Zakarpattia Regional State Administration Viktor Baloha claimed that 90 thousand of Zakarpattia residents have Hungarian passports.
