'OSCE is not a career-oriented organization, one can only work in this structure for ten years, no more. I reached this limit so I leave my office', he said, adding that his mission expires on October 31.
He never specified the name of his successor. 'This decision will be made by the OSCE leaders, and I cannot comment on it. One has to wait until the new official assumes the job', he said.
OSCE SMM deputy head expressed regret due to the fact that the Mission's activity failed to speed up the peaceful solution to the ongoing conflict in Donbas.
'Unfortunately, the work done by the SMM shows that the parties did not live up even to the basic promises they made within Minsk agreements', he underlined.
