The U.S. Congress's House of Representatives officially recognized Holodomor of 1932-1933 the act of genocide of the Ukrainian nation. Ukraine's Embassy in the U.S. posted that on Facebook.
'Thus, as of today, both of the U.S. Congress chambers made decisions, in which Holodomor is recognized the act of genocide of the Ukrainian people', reads the message.
The document contains the recognition of conclusions of the U.S. Governmental Commission for the Famine in Ukraine, stipulating that 'Stalin and his sidekicks committed genocide against Ukrainians'.
'Just like the similar resolution passed by the US Senate on October 3, the document also blames systematic violations of human rights, including those for self-expression and the freedom of speech, committed by the Soviet government against the Ukrainian nation', reads the message.
The Embassy expressed deepest condolences to the victims and the families of those affected by the Holodomor. The authority also urges the international community to share information to increase the awareness of the man-made nature of this tragedy across the globe.
