The House Democratic Caucus will investigate the role of Rudy Giuliani, the attorney to U.S. President Donald Trump, in efforts to put pressure on the Ukrainian government to help in the reelection campaign of Trump, as Euronews reports.
The committees on Foreign Affairs, Intelligence, and Oversight and Reform announced the investigation on September 10. Besides, the panels are waiting for the reports on the attempts to threaten the government of Ukraine.
"As the 2020 election draws closer, President Trump and his personal attorney appear to have increased pressure on the Ukrainian government and its justice system in service of President Trump's reelection campaign, and the White House and the State Department may be abetting this scheme," Eliot Enger, the Representative of New York, Adam Schiff of California and Elijah Cummings of Maryland stated.
It was added that former Vice President Joe Biden and his family are the targets of these efforts.
The New York Times also reported about the efforts of Giuliani to put pressure on Ukraine to investigate the ties between Biden activity in Ukraine and the role of his son in the gas company in Ukraine.
Besides, Giuliani attempted to figure out whether the Ukrainian officials hindered 2016 campaign of Donald Trump releasing damaging information about Paul Manafort.
Besides, Trump’s administration may withhold the military to Ukraine; however, Congress will probably vote for it despite his attempts to block it.
As we reported Sam Kislin, the American billionaire, ex-advisor of New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, arrived in Ukraine due to the investigation against ex-president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
