State of the political prisoner Edem Bekirov is critical, despite the fact that he was transferred to the medical unit as his daughter Eleonora Bekirova reported on Facebook.
“Despite the fact, that the father was transferred from the special block to the medical unit, the state of his health is critical. He does not get better, conversely, he has the rash over the body and the ground of it is unknown,” the message said.
She specified that he “daily gets a large amount of insulin but the sugar rate does not decrease”.
“He is still without bathhouse; he breathes air through little air gate and he sleeps while he is sitting. We fight so much for his transfer to the medical unit and we thought he would get better; the medical staff is near and the conditions are better but it turned out that there is almost no difference between the special block and the medical unit cell. The only one is that there is a possibility to visit the almost normal toilet and breathe air, even through the air gate,” Bekirova added.
As we reported earlier, the health situation of Crimean Tatar political prisoner Bekirov is critical.
On February 7, the court extended the arrest of Edem Bekirov until April 12.
Russian law enforcers detained Crimean Tatar Edem Bekirov at the entrance to occupied Crimea on December 12, 2018. Edem was heading from mainland Ukraine to Crimea to visit his 78-year-old mother and relatives.
According to Chubarov, Bekirov was arrested during passport control on the territory controlled by the Russian law enforcers. Later, Chubarov noted that the detainee was taken to Russia’s Security Service office in the annexed Simferopol.
