Donetsk and Luhansk regions need to be granted the status of free economic zones. This idea was voiced by the new head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) in Minsk Leonid Kravchuk at a meeting with members of the delegation on Monday, August 3. It was reported by Deutsche Welle, citing Donetsk representative in TCG Serhiy Garmash.
In addition, according to Interfax-Ukraine, a member of the delegation, MP of the Servant of the People political party Andriy Kostin said that Kravchuk proposed to enhance the information support of the Minsk Contact Group. According to him, it is necessary for Ukrainian society to know and understand even more what is happening in the Minsk talks.
Kostin also expects that the Ukrainian delegation will hold another meeting closer to the next meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group and its working groups which are scheduled for August 18-19.
As we reported earlier, on July 30, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Leonid Kravchuk the new head of Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group on peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas.
