Ukrainian activist Handziuk died from multiple organ failure and burns

The official reason for the death of Adviser of Kherson’s Mayor Kateryna Handziuk was multiple organ failure and chemical burns, Lawyer Masi Nayyem reported this on Facebook.

‘According to the medical certificate, the death was caused by multiple organ failure, chemical burns involving 30-39% of the body; attack using chemicals in order to kill or injure,’ Nayyem claimed.

He added that the farewell to Handziuk to be held in Kherson on Wednesday, November 7, at 12:00.

As it was reported, on November 4, Kateryna Handziuk, Kherson Mayor Advisor, died at the age of 34. She was doused with sulphuric acid in July this year. Preliminary, she died because of a blood clot detachment.

Later, President Petro Poroshenko confirmed this information, he expressed condolences on the death of the official. He also demanded the law enforcers to do everything possible to punish the murderers.

The police promised that they would give a legal qualification after the conclusions of the expert examinations concerning the cause of death.

367 people were questioned on Handziuk’s case. Police expect that the detained perpetrators will give additional information about the instigators of the crime.
