Handziuk case: Shevchenkivsky district court to continue session on Wednesday

Shevchenkivsky court announced the break in the session to select the restriction measure for Vladyslav Manger, the head of Kherson regional council. He is now the suspect in the organization of the murder of Kateryna Handziuk.

The session will continue at 12.30 p.m. Wednesday.

The defense team asked for some time to look into the case materials and to translate some documents from German so that they could be added to the case.

In July 2018, Kateryna Handziuk suffered an attempt on her life, when the assailant poured some sulphuric acid on her. She got almost 40 percent of her body burned; four months after the attack, in November 2018, the 34-year-old anti-corruption activist died at a hospital because of multiple organ failure and blood clot detachment - the aftermaths of the attack.

Vladyslav Manger, the chairman of Kherson regional council was served with charge papers. The Prosecutor General's Office now considers him a suspect in the organization of the murder. Manger said he will cooperate with the investigation.
