The panel of judges of the trial chamber on the consideration of the criminal cases of Kyiv Appeal Court has considered the appeal of the defense against the suspension from office of Kherson Regional Council Head Vladyslav Manger, who is suspected in the organization of murder of Kateryna Handziuk as Kyiv Appeal Court reported.
“On the results of the appeal consideration, the regulation of the investigating judge of Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv from March 6, 2019, is left without changes; the appeals of the defense are left without granting,” the message said.
Manger is suspected in the commitment of the criminal offense such as intentional homicide.
On March 6, Vladyslav Manger, the suspect in the organization of murder of activist Kateryna Hanzdiuk has been suspended from duty for a month.
On February 11, Vladyslav Manger was served with charge papers in Handziuk’s murder. In his turn, Manger said that he would not escape from the country due to suspicion of organizing the murder of Handziuk.
The court ruled to arrest Manger until March 3 with the possibility of bail. However, later lawyer Dmitry Ilchenko has posted a bail for his client Kherson Regional Council Head Vladyslav Manger.
On February 19, Vladyslav Manger started to wear the digital bracelet.
On November 4, 2018, it became known that Kateryna Handziuk died at the age of 34. She was doused with sulphuric acid in July this year. According to preliminary information, her death was caused by blood clot's detachment.
Besides, the doctors specified the cause for the death of Handziuk was specified. It was due to multiple organ failure and chemical burns.
Handziuk case evoked a huge public outrage, with people demanding to find the orderer of the murder of the activist.
