Hackers have stolen information about thousands of law enforcement and federal services employees of the United States, reports TechCrunch.

According to the information published, three websites related to the FBI Academy in Quantico (Virginia) were hacked.

The data obtained as a result of the hacker attack contains about 4 000 unique entries, in particular, the names of agents, personal and government email addresses, job titles, telephone numbers and postal addresses.

At the same time, in the commentary to the publication, one of the hackers on condition of anonymity, stated that over a thousand websites had been hacked, and access was received to "more than a million data" about employees in several U.S. federal agencies and state services.

"We are structuring all the data, and soon they will be sold. Some information from the hacked government sites may be published," he said.

Earlier Russian special services were preparing hacker attacks at popular Ukrainian media, as the press office of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) reported on Facebook.

“The officers of the situation center of SBU cyber security prevented an attempt of the hacker group controlled by the Russian special forces to carry out a preparatory phase of a cyber attack aimed at popular media and telecommunication facilities of Ukraine,” the message reads.

It was noted that over a couple of months the executors were creating an extensive Internet-infrastructure which has several dozens of domains which by their named coincide with or are similar to the official domains of popular Ukrainian electronic media, telecommunication providers and major telecommunications companies.

“Probably, the idea of the cyber attack was to create public outreach and negative informational influence on the eve of Ukraine’s presidential elections,” the officers of SBU noted.
