UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Russian president Vladimir Putin will hold a joint plenary session within frameworks of an international economic forum in St. Petersburg. The event is slated for today, June 2.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov welcomed Guterres in this country, saying that ‘the UN should be supported and united like never before’. ‘We trust your experience and wisdom. We’re interested in exchanging views on many issues, and we’re eager to hear your first impressions from serving as UN Secretary General,’ Lavrov said.
