The possible ground aggression of Russia in Ukraine will turn out to be a catastrophe for the federation. Interior Minister Arsen Avakov made such statement as the press service of the ministry reported.
“Currently, we are in the situation of martial law, in expectation, whether the aggressive actions from the side of Russia will continue. It is very important for us to be ready for any aggressive actions, which can occur from the side of the enemy. If it commits the ground aggression against Ukraine, military law will be continued, we will mobilize all the forces. For Ukraine, it will be a very difficult challenge, but for Putin’s Russia it will be a catastrophe. We are ready for such challenges in full,” Avakov noted.
At the same time, the minister expects that the ground aggression of Russia against Ukraine will not happen.
“I really hope that it will not take place; military law will end by the New Year, and we will return occupied territories by the efforts of the diplomats,” Avakov said.
As it was reported, President Poroshenko said that Russian troops still might invade Ukraine. But if Russia does not do it, martial law will not be prolonged.
As we reported earlier, the coast guard ships of the Russian Navy acted aggressively against the ships of the Ukrainian Navy, which have been carrying out a scheduled transition from Odesa port to Mariupol port in the Sea of Azov.
Given the tough situation in the area of Kerch Strait in the Sea of Azov, President Petro Poroshenko supported the offer of Ukraine's national security and defense council; it stipulates that the Ukrainian Parliament should consider the option to impose the martial law in Ukraine.
On November 28, the Uriadovy Kurier, the official outlet of the Ukrainian Cabinet, published the presidential decree No.392, which activates the decision of the National Security and Defense Council in Ukraine about the 30-days-long martial law in Ukraine.
