Today, on March 9, the Cabinet of Ministers held a meeting of the government anti-crisis headquarters to counteract the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus in Ukraine, following which Prime Minister Denys Shmygal approved a new strengthened anti-crisis prevention plan to combat the spread of coronavirus and instructed ministers and heads of central authorities executive authorities to carry out a number of activities. The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reports.

So, the heads of the relevant departments should review the reserves of the state reserve to ensure personal protective equipment for the population, taking into account the three-month need, and by March 11, determine the amount of funds that are needed to replenish the state reserve.

The Prime Minister also instructed to provide information on domestic manufacturers of personal protective equipment and find out whether they are able to meet the demand of the population and medical facilities for personal protective equipment. In addition, the head of the Antimonopoly Committee must ensure the implementation of the law on economic competition and the protection of the rights of patients in the retail trade of protective equipment.

The government also obliged the Ministry of Health to develop a communication plan to determine action algorithms if there are cases of coronavirus, and bring it to the attention of local authorities, as well as work out the issue of creating a network of centers for disease control and prevention.

In addition, Denys Shmygal instructed to provide for an examination by medical personnel and employees of the State Border Service of all persons arriving in Ukraine from abroad and through checkpoints of entry and exit from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, as well as the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. It was also instructed to ensure duty at checkpoints of resuscitation and medical vehicles.

The Cabinet of Ministers also clarified that before March 11, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance are required to submit proposals to increase funding for the purchase by laboratory centers of the Ministry of Health of medical devices, personal protective equipment and diagnostic materials, as well as test systems for determining coronavirus.
