The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved an action plan for the implementation of the annual national program under the auspices of the Ukraine-NATO Commission for 2021 and performance indicators. The relevant decision was made during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to the explanatory note, the plan contains specific steps needed for reforming in the relevant areas in order to ensure the implementation of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration course. It is also harmonized with the main strategic documents of the state.
The ministries and other state bodies involved in the implementation of the annual program should ensure the implementation of the plan within the state budget for 2021 and through international technical assistance, as well as regularly inform the public about the progress and results of the action plan.
As it was reported earlier, NATO leaders have also confirmed the decision of the Bucharest summit about Ukraine becoming the Alliance member. At that, Kyiv still needs to move forward with reforms.
In April, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed his country's membership in NATO with his French colleague Emmanuel Macron and British Premier Boris Johnson.
