Ukraine insists on compensations from the Iranian government

Cabinet of Ministers has allocated 8,3 thousand dollars to each of the families of those who died in the Boeing 737 crash in Tehran. Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk has informed about it.

The government plans to pay one-time aid within a week. They were allocated from the reserve fund.

"We monitor the proper implementation of insurance payments in accordance with the Montreal Convention. Payments of 250 thousand SDR (special drawing rights), which approximately amounts to 345,000 dollars, are guaranteed for each family of the deceased Ukrainian," Honcharuk wrote.

Ukraine insists on compensations from the Iranian government.

As we reported earlier, the Main Investigation Department of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has launched a pre-trial investigation into the UIA crash in Iran under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

“Security Service, on behalf of the Prosecutor General's Office, started investigating the circumstances of the Boeing crash under Article 276, Part 3 (violation of traffic safety rules or exploitation of air transport), Article 115, Part 2 (intentional homicide) and Article 194 (intentional destruction or damage of property) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,” the message reads.
