The American company Google first filed a lawsuit against Roskomnadzor after its demands to block 12 links to videos on YouTube. This was reported by Kommersant.

On May 11, the Moscow Arbitration Court accepted Google LLC's suit against Roskomnadzor.

Google is litigating the requirements of Roskomnadzor to remove 12 links on YouTube, which the regulator considers "illegal content."

As you know, the body, based on the requirements of the Prosecutor General's Office, sent a notification to the Google administration about restricting access to materials with appeals, including to minors, to participate in unauthorized rallies in January 2021.

The American company has not previously initiated legal proceedings to dispute the non-normative acts of Roskomnadzor in Russia and acted only as a defendant or a third party. Lawyers associate the change in strategy with increased pressure from the authorities on Google services and believe that the company may continue litigation in international courts.
