Germany to resume border control for duration of G20 summit

The citizens should be ready for possible check during the crossing of the German border

Germany resumes the border control for the duration of G20 summit. The General Council of Ukraine in Hamburg reported this at Facebook.

‘Thomas de Maiziere, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Germany made a decision to implement the border control of land, air and sea inner boundary of Germany in Schengen the since June 12, 2017 due to the strict requirements of security during the G20 summit in Hamburg on July 7-8, 2017’, the message reports.

The events will take place at the different time and different parts of the boundary, depending on the situation for June 12 and July 11, 2017.

The aim of control implementation is to prevent from entry the possible potential lawbreakers who are intent to the violent actions and can hinder of the unobstructed holding of the summit’, the message reports.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Germany warned that the travelers should be ready for the possible check during the crossing of the German border.

‘Only the minor complications of the border movement and in particular places are expected. They will be restricted by reasonable measures for security. The travelers who cross the border should have the ID or foreign passport’, the Council added.

Thomas de Maiziere noted that such decision is provided by the Schengen Code and it is agreed with EU-members and European Commission.
