Germany is concerned over the escalation of the conflict in Donbas and it calls on the parties of the Minsk agreements to take measures for stabilizing the situation, according to the statement by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
“We call on all parties to confirm the cease-fire at the next meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk on Dec. 20 and take all necessary measures for stabilization,” the statement says.
The Foreign Federal Office also condemned the attacks that on the night of Dec. 13 in Popasna, Luhansk region, put the lives of five OSCE SMM observers under threat. “Deploying artillery in the localities in Eastern Ukraine puts the civilians under serious threat”.
Berlin is concerned over the renewal of the military activity in the East of Ukraine, where since the beginning of December 17 people died and 37 were wounded.
Germany and France as participants of the Normandy format call for resolving the situation in Donbas.
