Germany began withdrawing its troops from the Turkish Incirlik air base, where they supported international operations against the Islamic state. This is reported by Reuters referring to the information of the press secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Germany.
"The official representative of Turkey confirmed the beginning of the withdrawal of German military, saying that the German Defense Minister told his Turkish counterpart about the date of withdrawal during their meeting at the NATO summit in Brussels," the report said.
The German tanker left the Incirlik base on Sunday and headed for the military base in Jordan. There Germany is also moving the equipment necessary to accommodate Tornado aircraft, which is now in Turkey. The planes will to be stationed in Jordan in October.
It is worth noting that about 260 German soldiers are now at the Incirlik Turkish base.
As reported, the reason for the redeployment of the troops of Germany from the Turkish air base is that Ankara does not provide German deputies with unlimited admission to the airbase. This was a response to the granting of refuge in Turkey to Turkish soldiers who, as NATO military forces, were stationed on the territory of Germany.
