According to the European External Action Service (EEAS), Germany became the target of the Russian disinformation campaigns more often than other EU countries, as Deutsche Welle reported.

“Any other EU state is attacked so actively as Germany,” the document says.

The issue is about disinformation campaigns held at the political level, by mass media loyal to Kremlin.

The database ‘the EU vs. Disinformation’ includes over 700 similar cases of disinformation aiming against Germany starting in 2015. 300 cases were spotted against France, 170 against Italy, and over 40 against Spain. The publications from open access and speeches of the politicians were used for analysis.

As we reported, the United States accused Russian intelligence agencies of spreading misinformation about Western vaccines against coronavirus in an attempt to undermine global confidence in their safety.
