The partner of German Chancellor Angela Merkel on coalition and Social Democratic Party of Germany demand from Interior Minister to immediately establish which German security agencies knew about cyber attack and their way of response to it as Reuters reported.
“The government must quickly shed light on “which agencies knew what exactly when, and how that was dealt with. This should be a priority for (Interior Minister) Horst Seehofer. It’s about protecting our democracy,” Lars Klingbeil, secretary general of the Social Democratic Party said.
In his turn, the Interior Minister promised to report to the public all he knows about cyber attack and he intends to it this week.
German Federal Office for Information Security got to know about the data leak a few weeks ago, however, it did not report to the law enforcement bodies.
As we reported hundreds of politicians in Germany suffered from the cyber attack. Their personal data appeared in the public domain on the internet
Members of almost all political forces of Germany such as “Christian Democratic Union of Germany”, “Christian Social Union”, “Social Democratic Party”, “Alliance 90/The Greens”, “The Left” and “Free Democratic Party” are among the victims whose personal data was published. Only politicians of “Alternative for Germany” party were not affected.
It is unknown who got the access to the personal data of the politicians and what was the purpose to spread it. Bundestag politicians count the inflicted harm.
