German MPs offer to place additional UN civilian police contingent in Donbas

The Free Democratic Party of Germany put forward a proposal to send a UN civilian police to Ukraine. This was reported by Bild.

Reportedly, the lawmakers of this party adopted a document called “Peace in Ukraine needs a new impulse”. It describes the new strategy for resolving the conflict in Donbas, and, among other things, provides for the deployment of an additional contingent of UN civilian police in Ukraine.

The FDP invited the German parliament to develop an action plan in addition to the Minsk agreements, indicating mandatory deadlines and consequences in the event of non-compliance.

The authors of the document propose to dissolve the "governments" created by the militants and establish transitional civilian administrations under the leadership of the UN.

A total of 12 points were mentioned in the document. The Bundestag will consider it soon.

Earlier Russia announced its intention to simplify the acquisition of the Russian Federation citizenship to residents of the “DNR” and “LNR” after the elections in Ukraine. Later it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin is thinking of issuing passports of the Russian Federation under a simplified procedure to all residents of Ukraine.
