German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen urged US President-elect Donald Trump to decide on his position with regard to Russia and Vladimir Putin. She stated this on the air of German TV channel ZDF, Tagesspiegel reports.
"Trump should make clear on which side he stands: on the side of law, democracy and a world order, or he does not care, and builds a kind of male friendship" - said von der Leyen.
She encouraged him in conversations with Putin not to forget about the annexation of Crimea and the bombing of Aleppo.
In addition, von der Leyen urged Trump not to treat NATO like a business.
