A few functionaries of the right-wing populist party Alternative for Germany (AfG) are suspected in the close relations with a supposed Russian agent, the citizen of Poland Mateusz Piskorski. The media companies WDR, NDR and the newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung reported this citing the confidential report of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution and Federal Intelligence Service as DW.com reported.
According to the data, Piskorski who supposedly works for the Russian Intelligence Service is maintained in the pretrial detention center. The Special Services of Germany also consider him to be the pro-Russian propagandist that receives money from Kremlin.
According to the messages, Mateusz Piskorski organized the mission of the observers to the questionable elections in the regions that are under the influence of Russia. The representatives of the landtags from the AfG took part in these missions.
The executives of AfG founded the community under the name of German Center of Eurasian Research for this purpose last year in Berlin, according to the report.
The key partner and the chairman of this community is the chief editor of the far right-wing newspaper Zuerst! Manuel Ochsenreiter. The Head of the Youth wing of the AfG Markus Frohnmaier and the AfG representative in Thuringia Landtag Thomas Rudy are the co-founders of the community as the German mass media reported.
