Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said that he considers the interference of Ukrainian citizens in the internal affairs of Georgia unacceptable as the Georgian government reported after Garibashvili’s talk with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The message also states that during a telephone conversation, the head of the Georgian government called Mikheil Saakashvili's illegal actions "provocative, destructive and threatening the country's stability and said that the interference of Ukrainian citizens in the internal affairs of Georgia is unacceptable."

It is noted that Zelensky was the initiator of the telephone conversation. He was interested in the state of health of Saakashvili, who has been on a hunger strike for over a month.

"Irakli Garibashvili told him that prisoner Saakashvili, like other prisoners, is under observation from the first day of his stay in the correctional facility and receives appropriate medical care around the clock. According to the head of the Georgian government, Saakashvili, as a citizen of Ukraine, is allowed to see his lawyers, family members, as well as lawmakers of the Georgian parliament,” the statement says.

During the conversation, Zelensky raised the issue of transferring prisoner Saakashvili to the prison hospital, to which Irakli Garibashvili said that during the transfer to the Gldani prison hospital, Saakashvili resisted, verbally and physically insulted the staff.

“Accordingly, the administration of the penitentiary institution carried out the actions stipulated by the law,” the message says.

As we reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili, during which he asked the Prime Minister of Georgia to let Ukrainian doctors go to Saakashvili.
