Georgian Industrial Group founder David Bezhuashvili believes that President Volodymyr Zelensky plays a positive role in attracting foreign investment to Ukraine. He stated this in an interview with Ukrainian News agency.
“If the first person of the state assumes the role of the leader of investment, heads this sphere - it testifies to attention to investors. In my opinion, investments are the only right way of movement for Ukraine, especially in difficult times for all world economy. Therefore the president’s way to bilateral dialogue with investors is a responsible state position, which I sincerely welcome. Next there must be real actions, and we already see a movement in this direction from those institutions responsible for implementing public policy. I had the honor to talk to the President Zelensky and got the best impressions, the team is set for radical changes,” the investor said.
Earlier President Zelensky said that economic reforms in Ukraine created all preconditions for successful investments in the country.
“Elimination of administrative barriers, expansion of economic rights, digitalization of state-building processes, introduction of a transparent land market, large-scale privatization and many other very important reforms are being implemented by us with a single goal: Ukraine must be covered by an avalanche of investments, both external and internal,” Zelensky said.
Georgian Industrial Group is the largest holding company in Georgia with business interests from energy to real estate. The company was founded in 2006 by David Bezhuashvili. Currently, it works in several countries in the region, including Ukraine, where it invests in the port of Kherson.
