Georgia returned its ambassador to Ukraine after a long break. Teimuraz Sharashenidze arrived in Kyiv after being recalled by Tbilisi about a year ago. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported this.
The report states this was the result of agreements reached during a telephone conversation between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of Georgia Salome Zourabishvili on April 15, 2021.
It is noted that Sharashenidze stressed the desire to intensify the development of Ukrainian-Georgian relations, cooperation in bilateral and multilateral dimensions to strengthen security in the region. The Georgian ambassador also reaffirmed that Georgia continues support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
As it was reported, Ukraine would like to receive the Membership Action Plan (MAP) in NATO together with Georgia.
