The Georgian authorities violate the rights of Ukrainian citizen Mikheil Saakashvili; he is not provided with proper medical care as Ukrainian Ombudsman Lyudmyla Denisova reported on Telegram.

It is noted that Mikheil Saakashvili is on hunger strike for the 34th day in a row and has lost 20 kg of weight. On November 3, new medical tests were made to assess his "objective state of health."

"I call on foreign states and international organizations to resolutely condemn the actions of officials of the Republic of Georgia violating the rights of Ukrainian citizen Mikheil Saakashvili and to seek the Georgian authorities to restore his rights to provide medical care," Lyudmyla Denisova said.

As it was reported earlier, former president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili has reported that he arrived in his motherland for the first time since 2013 on October 1. However, that same evening Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated that Saakashvili was arrested and had already been taken to the penitentiary. There Saakashvili went on a hunger strike.

Soon, ex-president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili was transferred to the individual cell. Saakashvili refused to interrupt his hunger strike despite the worsening of health.

The Ministry of Justice of Georgia has proposed to the Ministry of Health to create a multifunctional group of doctors to assess the health of the ex-president's prisoner.
