Prosecutor General of Ukraine Iryna Venedyktova received a clear indication from President Zelensky of illegal actions regarding the prosecution of Petro Poroshenko. The fifth president of Ukraine, the leader of the European Solidarity party said this after he left the Office of the Prosecutor General together with MPs and lawyers.

He also emphasized that Iryna Venedyktova did not want to discuss numerous procedural violations with the MPs of the European Solidarity by the Office of the Prosecutor General and fled from the office.

“We are firmly convinced by today's actions that Venedyktova received a clear instruction from President Zelensky from Bankova Street. We are convinced that there is a criminal offense here - interference in the activities of the Prosecutor General by the Office of the President or the President himself. And today, trying to do this, they actually suspect two - Poroshenko and Zelensky," the fifth president said.

"I emphasize that the country is returning to the times of Yanukovych. I emphasize once again that this is nothing but political persecution of the opposition and its leader. The only thing they came up with is" trash", claiming that I, as president, tried to seize state power, tried to commit treason or some other nonsense that was brilliantly commented on by a person who definitely doesn’t treat me with sympathy - 100% Zelensky’s man, the former Prosecutor General Ryaboshapka,” Poroshenko reiterated.

“We will demand, as an urgent meeting, with the Attorney General, including, I emphasize that, in accordance with the legislation I am the author of, amendments to the Constitution that I have introduced, registered and carried out in the first reading, the Prosecutor General’s obligation to participate in handing over the suspicion, if it considers necessary. We arrived in order to get suspicion. After that, after talking with us for about 40 minutes, the Prosecutor General ran away. We said that we were ready to come to her again at any time, left the phones. And as soon as it will be free, we will come for her, including the implementation of actions," Poroshenko said.

He also said that during a meeting with Venedyktova, MPs demanded the implementation of legal procedural actions that were sabotaged by the Office of the Prosecutor General. "He does investigative actions and answer questions about the non-registration in the Unified Register of the case on obstructing a MP, the unregistration in the Unified Register of the case on obstructing the activities of journalists, the unregistration of the case against the State Security Committee for exceeding authority when organizing without a court decision to storm the museum, other positions of procedural violations that were brutal," Petro Poroshenko noted.

"We tried to stop the lawlessness. I can only hope that they heard us and they will change our position. If not, I want to emphasize separately: we are not just not shying away from investigative actions. We have come to the prosecutor general’s office - you are all witnesses. Do you have something “We represent. Show people - and the whole world will laugh at you, because if the fifth President of Ukraine tried to seize state power by fulfilling his constitutional powers, appointing the leadership of various armed groups — this is nothing more than the persecution of the opposition,” Poroshenko stated.
