"November 22 is the current deadline for payments. Due to this fact, Gazprom informed the Moldovan side that in 48 hours, the gas supplies to Moldova will be halted - according to the contract", Kupriyanov said.
According to the official, the Moldovan side does not play for the fuel that was already supplied, ignoring its commitments.
Earlier, in late October Moldova made a deal with Gazprom, asking to extend the contract for gas supplies for another five years. On November 1, first gas supplies under the new contract reached the country.
"As far as I know, President Putin sent the German chancellor to Lukashenko, saying that he only needed to have a direct line of contact and resolve the issue with him. There were no ultimatums. But in general, we must understand that the pressure that Russia is now exerting on several fronts of the hybrid war is one of the tasks of Nord Stream 2 certification. This factor is present in the game that has now unfolded, and it is very dangerous," the minister said.
