The re-naming affairs committee of Kyiv City Council approved the decision to name the garden square near the Russian embassy in Kyiv by the name of Boris Nemtsov, the deceased Russian opposition politician. Ukrainian MP Dmytro Bilotserkivets posted this on Facebook.
According to him, now it’s up to the Kyiv City council’s board to approve the decision.
Boris Nemtsov, Russian opposition politician and public activist was murdered not far from the Kremlin in Moscow in late February 2015. In June 2017, Moscow district military court sentenced the presumed killer Zaur Dadayev to 20 years behind bars; however, the independent media in Russia, Ukraine and many other countries assumes that the Kremlin is behind this murder.
