Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif unexpectedly arrived in Biarritz, where the G7 summit is taking place. This was reported by Reuters.

According to the news agency data, Zarif plans to discuss the latest events with President of France Emmanuel Macron.

"Zarif will convey the response of the Iranian leadership to the proposal of French President Emanuel Macron aimed at preserving Iran’s nuclear deal in 2015," the Iranian official said.

It is noted that a meeting between the Foreign Minister of Iran and U.S. representatives is not planned.

Trump did not comment on the sudden arrival of Zarif and not specified whether he knew about the arrival of the Iranian mission in Biarritz.

The G7 summit began yesterday, August 24, in Biarritz, France and will continue until August 26.
French and U.S. presidents Emmanuel Macron and Donald Trump held unplanned negotiations in French Biarritz before the G7 summit. It is reported by Ukrinform.

"The leaders met for an informal dinner on the hotel terrace," the report said.

They communicated just at a time when relations between France and the United States began to deteriorate due to the introduction of taxes by Paris against large American multinational IT companies. In response, Trump threatened to impose 100% customs duties on the export of French wines.
