The leaders of the G7 threatened the Russian Federation with new sanctions if it continues to ignore the Minsk agreements. This is stated in the final declaration of the G-7 summit.
According to the leaders, the conflict can be resolved only after the parties fulfill their obligations, which are mentioned in the Minsk agreements. The G7 participants pointed to the entire responsibility of the Russian Federation in the conflict with Ukraine.
"Sanctions may be lifted if Russia fulfills its obligations, but we are also ready to apply new restrictive measures against Russia, if necessary. We support Ukraine in its desire to implement the necessary reform program and are ready to help it in this, "the declaration reads.
Also, the leaders noted that they condemn the illegal annexation of the Crimea and fully support the independence of Ukraine.
