Theresa May, Britain’s PM, stated about an agreement reached by the leaders of the G7 states on the necessity to decide on new anti-Russia sanctions, as Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“I also welcome the G7 recognition of the need to maintain sanctions on Russia in light of Russia’s failure to fully implement the Minsk Agreements in Ukraine. We have agreed to stand ready to take further restrictive measures against Russia if necessary,” May stated.
Earlier, Trump supported Russia’s returning to G8. Giuseppe Conte, Italy’s PM had the same position.
France and Canada spoke against it.
Russia was expelled from G8 after Crimea’s annexation, the G8 became G7.
