France, as well as other G7 countries, is disappointed with the current state of the fight against corruption in Ukraine. This was stated by French Ambassador to Ukraine Etienne de Poncins, Interfax-Ukraine reported.
"I have to emphasize my frustration. And it is not just my frustration, it is not France's frustration - it's the frustration of G7 countries. I think you are following our tweets. Of course, we are disappointed, especially when it comes to the conflict over the Constitutional Court. It is also obvious that we consider the resolution of October 27, 2020, a serious obstacle to Ukraine's fight against corruption, as some important aspects of the legislation are under threat," said de Poncins.
According to the diplomat, the reasons for the absence of significant results are the presence of interested parties, lack of legal instruments to promote reforms and legal expertise.
As we reported earlier, Ukraine was ranked 117th among 180 countries in the Corruption Perceptions Index 2020, which is three points higher than the last year's result.
