Britain’s Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson announced that G7 countries are considering possibility of new sanctions on Syrian and Russian military figures due to Moscow’s support of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. This was reported by Associated Press.

"We will be discussing the possibility of further sanctions certainly on some of the Syrian military figures and indeed on some of the Russian military figures who have been involved in coordinating the Syrian military efforts," Johnson said.

He also stressed that there is a proposal to impose punitive sanctions against Russia for its support of Syrian regime.
