Ambassadors of G7 member countries have praised the first legislative steps aimed at the launch of the land sale market in Ukraine. This is mentioned in the joint message of ambassadors on Twitter.

"G7 Ambassadors welcome the launch of a legislative process to end the moratorium on the purchase and sale of land. This will help unleash the enormous potential of Ukraine's agricultural sector and spark economic development", reads the statement.

On November 13, the Ukrainian Parliament voted for draft law No.2178-10 in the first reading; the document cancels the moratorium for the land sale in Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelensky offered to hold the nation-wide referendum about the option to sell the Ukrainian land to foreigners.

Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament Dmytro Razumkov claimed that such referendum may be held before 2024, but only after the law is passed in the second reading.
