G7 ambassadors congratulate Ukraine on release of 35 prisoners

G7 ambassadors welcome the release of 35 Ukrainian prisoners. This was reported on the G7 page on Twitter.

The representatives of the Big Seven countries congratulated the Ukrainian authorities on the sucess, and reported that they share the joy of the Ukrainians on the occasion of their prisoners' return home.

The ambassadors noted that they remember those who remain in custody and hope for their speedy release.
 


"G7 Ambassadors welcome the release of 35 Ukrainian detainees and share the happiness of the Ukrainian people to see them back home. We congratulate the Ukrainian authorities on this achievement. We remember the remaining prisoners and expect their prompt release," the statement says.
 

Today, September 7, the exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and Russia took place.

Around 1:40 p.m., the plane with Ukrainians landed at the Boryspil airport.

35 people returned to Ukraine, the full list was published by the press service of the President of Ukraine.

As we reported earlier, Russia and Ukraine have agreed on exchange "33 on 33". President Zelensky said he hoped for "first results" in the exchange of detainees between Ukraine and Russia soon.

Later, a press secretary of the former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Larysa Sargan reported about the exchange "35 on 35".

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated he liked the idea to exchange all the prisoners in Russia and in the occupied territories of Donbas and Crimea.
